‘Best in You is the place’
When I moved to Haarlem from Amsterdam in 2017, I was looking for a training studio that could combine personal attention, in depth expertise and different training possibilities. It soon became very clear that Best in You was this place.
Robin is one of the most knowledgeable trainers that I have ever come across, with great understanding of the human body and its training, nutrition and recovery needs. Despite his long experience and credentials, he is constantly seeking to evolve and learn new and diverse skills that he can apply to his trainings. He personally cares about his clients and focuses on helping them set realistic goals and achieve them. Next to all these professional qualities, he is also a very nice person to work with: he has a great sense of humour, he is calm, enthusiastic and confident. In the past three years I worked with Robin both though 1-1 sessions and small group trainings. Robin helped me maintain my training focus and get stronger prior to my pregnancy and get back in shape after that. We also trained regularly during the first Covid-19 lockdown and summer vacations.
In short, Robin always found ways to accommodate my training requests and wishes. And most importantly: training with him is fun! I would recommend Robin to anyone who is looking for a committed high quality all-round coach!

Robin has been my personal trainer since May 2011 and I can say that he is a truly excellent trainer. His professionalism with extensive knowledge and enthusiastic commitment provides perfect scenario for “success story” and it sets foundation for a new you. He also provides you with the necessary nutritional info to guide you along the way and to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle with no risk of injury. He will make each workout challenging and fun, with creative individual exercise programs and yet achievable goal settings, but most importantly comfortable atmosphere which is a great stress reliever.
The biggest booster to my confidence was loosing weight of 30.6kg in half a year, and one year later (may 2012) to be able to run my first 10K ever, with just under one hour time. I love the way I feel now… so much stronger and energized, more flexible and healthier than ever before, with better balance. But it doesn’t just help with your fitness level. Seeing improvements will motivate you in other areas of your life too… Once you retrain your mind, the body will just follow the passion. Every day was demanding, but I was very committed and I always looked forward to every session.
I am so thankful and extremely proud of my achievements, as well as the fact that I became an inspiration and a good example for the others. So, if you are serious about changing your life for the better and forever, Robin will lead you every step of the way!

Ik heb 8 maanden personal training van Robin genoten. Robin koppelt een zeer gedegen kennis van bewegen, cardio en voeding aan aanstekelijk enthousiasme en droge humor, wat zijn trainingen niet alleen effectief, maar ook heel plezierig maakt. Geen hypes, maar doordacht advies, met steeds wisselende schema’s en advies op persoonlijke maat, waardoor je telkens wordt verrast. Dit houdt het leuk en leidt tot resultaten!

I came to Robin with a request early January 2012: Make me fit for the summer!
I have always been working out and I wasn’t troubled with overweight or similar, but I was not able to make it to the next level by myself. Price was an issue for me, but Robin suggested working out together (personal training) only 30 minutes a week. Next to our weekly appointment I had to work out by myself 2-3 times a week, but only with my 30 minute program. According to him it should be enough to reach my goal. I thought it sounded too good to be true because I normally worked out 1-1.5 hour 3-4 times a week. We started working out and he introduced me to various exercises with TRX bands, kettlebells and boxing. A variety of these exercises in combination with nutritional advise and a new workout program every month made me reach my goal by the end of April.
When I first approached Robin in January my weight showed 66kg with 29.8% fat. By April 29th I had lost 5kg, 11 cm around my waist and my fat percentage had dropped to 24%. I had never been that fit!
My journey with Robin has thought me a lot about my own body, new exciting exercises and healthy nutrition. What I find important is that Robin do not aim for a “quick fix” as many other trainers, the process is all about a lifestyle change. The tools he give you is easy to follow and is something to you can easily apply to the rest of your life.
